The Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas Esq., announced on Tuesday that Mr Gilbert Bosco Nhabay has been appointed as the Deputy Clerk and Acting Clerk of Parliament until the substantive Clerk of Parliament takes office, following the retirement of the Deputy Clerk of Parliament, Mr Mohamed Lebbie.

Gilbert Bosco N’habay was appointed after the Parliamentary Commission made a definitive decision.

With more than 20 years of work experience, Gilbert Bosco Nhabay has a proven track record in program development, administration, and management. He graduated from the University of Sierra Leone with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and a master’s degree in public administration and international development. His tenure as President of the Southern Province Schools Union, President of the National Union of Sierra Leone Students, and Senior Prefect of Bo School are all sources of his experience and leadership abilities.

Along with his academic accomplishments, the Acting Clerk has held several administrative and management roles, such as National Project Support Manager for the British Council-led DFID-sponsored Project, Justice Sector Development Programme, Head of Administration and Management, Acting Deputy Country Director of PLAN International, and Director of SOS Sierra Leone Village.

The Speaker of Parliament gave the public and members of Parliament instructions to contact Gilbert Bosco N’habay with any administrative-related questions. His strong interpersonal, management, communication, and strategic thinking skills, combined with his operations and research expertise, make him an invaluable member of the Parliament. The InterAction Leadership Program, run by Questions of Difference and the British Council, has the Deputy and Acting Clerk as a scholar. He is blessed with three children and a happy marriage. Gilbert Bosco Nhabay is a highly qualified individual to lead the Parliament as the Acting Clerk due to his extensive experience and commitment to public service.
