With Pyypl Visa Card: Afrimoney Ushers In New Era Of Mobile Banking

Afrimoney has ushered in a new era of mobile banking with the launch of the Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card, marking a historic moment in the country’s financial landscape. The event occurred on July 1, 2024, at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown, drawing stakeholders, ministers, and industry leaders.

The Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card aims to enhance convenience and security in mobile money transactions locally and internationally. During the launch, a representative from Afrimoney emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence, highlighting the card’s role in transforming Sierra Leone’s fintech sector.

“With the Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card, users can enjoy seamless transactions, including contactless payments in stores and online, with real-time notifications for every transfer,” the representative stated.

Minister of Communications Technology and Innovation, Salima Monorma Bah, praised the initiative as a significant step forward for mobile banking in Sierra Leone, emphasizing its role in making financial services accessible and convenient for all citizens.

Martison Obeng Agyei, Managing Director of Afrimoney, expressed gratitude for the support and highlighted the card’s potential to bridge financial gaps and empower users across the globe. He underscored the partnership’s success in merging mobile money and banking services, making banking accessible without traditional bank accounts.

Chief Minister, David Moina Sengeh, echoed sentiments of appreciation and optimism, stressing the importance of such initiatives in driving national development and fostering financial inclusivity.

The launch of the Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card represents a pivotal moment in Sierra Leone’s journey towards digital financial transformation, promising greater accessibility, security, and efficiency in financial transactions for all citizens.
