CONAKRY, Guinea – September 9, 2026… The Republic of Guinea officially launched its new Foreign Policy Document on Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, was the Guinean government’s special guest during a two-day working visit. The high-level meeting convened senior officials and diplomatic representatives to provide a policy framework to guide Guinea’s international engagement, regional partnerships, and economic diplomacy, under the auspices of Prime Minister His Excellency Amadou Oury Bah.
Prime Minister Bah stressed that the new foreign policy will be based on sovereignty, strategic neutrality, economic transformation, peace and African integration. He described Guinea’s diplomatic missions as active platforms for influence, negotiation, economic mobilisation, and the projection of national interests. The Prime Minister said future partnerships will be assessed based on real contributions to productive investment, job creation, infrastructure development, skills transfer, and technology acquisition.
Guinea’s Prime Minister Bah reaffirmed the country’s commitment to regional stability and said: “Africa is our family, the world is our horizon,” citing priorities such as good neighbourliness, common security, the development of economic corridors, energy cooperation and joint border management. He said the priorities were crucial for deepening ties across the region and using foreign relations to spur domestic economic growth.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Bah paid a courtesy call on Vice President Juldeh Jalloh at the Radisson Blu Hotel, an exchange that reaffirmed the strengthening diplomatic relations and expanding cooperation between Guinea and Sierra Leone. The visit and the policy launch are seen as steps toward greater regional cooperation and a more proactive, economically oriented foreign policy for Guinea.
