To Fosters Team Unity:  Africell Impact Foundation Holds Afrifamily Hiking

n a bid to strengthen team spirit in the workplace and foster greater cohesion among staff, Africell Impact Foundation recently organized a refreshing and invigorating hike under their Afrifamily program. The event, which was on Thursday 4th January 2024, saw both the top management team and junior staff embarking on a scenic 5-kilometer hike from Guma Gate to the Guma Dam at Mile 13, near Sussex Village. 

According to the Customer Relations Director, Madam Kippy Debs, the initiative was part of the company’s strategic planning retreat program, aimed at promoting greater cohesion and teamwork, but more especially, a healthy lifestyle among its workforce. Madam Kippy Debs furthered that the Afrifamily hiking expedition provided top managers with an opportunity to connect beyond the confines of their office environment, fostering a sense of unity through this shared experience. Participants were treated to breathtaking views along the trail and its picturesque landscapes and natural surroundings. 

On his part, the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr Joe Abass Bangura, said the hike not only encouraged physical activity but also allowed individuals to unwind and recharge amidst nature’s tranquillity. Joe Abass Bangura added that the company believes that activities like these are crucial for team bonding and rejuvenation. 

According to the Marketing Director of Afrimoney, John Konteh, the Afrifamily hike retreat aligns with the company’s commitment to its employee’s well-being and underscores the belief in the significance of a balanced work-life culture. John Konteh concluded that Africell Sierra Leone remains dedicated to fostering a culture that values teamwork, health, and camaraderie, as such initiatives are expected to be a regular part of the company’s ongoing efforts to ensure a fulfilling and inclusive work environment. 

The event garnered enthusiastic participation from Africell’s top management, showcasing their enthusiasm for embracing initiatives promoting a harmonious work environment. Many staff expressed their appreciation of the company’s effort in organizing activities that go beyond the usual office routine, promoting a sense of belonging and togetherness among colleagues. 

The success of the Afrifamily hike highlights the company’s commitment to fostering employee engagement and well-being. Africell Sierra Leone remains dedicated to a culture that values teamwork, health, and camaraderie, and such initiatives are expected to be a regular feature in the company’s ongoing efforts to ensure a fulfilling and inclusive work environment. 

The positive feedback and camaraderie witnessed during the Afrifamily hike indicate that such initiatives will play an integral role in enhancing employee morale and strengthening the bonds among the Africell Sierra Leone team.
