Her Excellency, Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, engaged in a fruitful dialogue with His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, during their recent meeting at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Antalya, Turkiye. The discussions centred on fortifying the diplomatic and cooperative ties between their two nations, aiming to foster a more robust partnership.

The meeting provided a strategic platform for both leaders to reaffirm their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development. President Osmani-Sadriu expressed her gratitude to President Bio for the warm hospitality and the constructive nature of their discussions. She highlighted the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as an effective venue for diplomatic dialogue, which plays a crucial role in advancing global peace initiatives and saving lives.

During the talks, President Osmani-Sadriu reflected on Kosovo’s remarkable journey from conflict to peace and development, underscoring the essential role of diplomacy in this transformation. She extended a formal invitation to President Bio to visit Kosovo, encouraging him to experience the significant progress made in various sectors, including trade, economics, agriculture, education, and technology.

President Osmani-Sadriu also acknowledged Sierra Leone’s ongoing support for Kosovo’s efforts toward peace and stability, expressing her aspiration to elevate their bilateral relationship. In response, President Bio expressed his appreciation for the discussions and reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to collaborating with Kosovo.

He identified key sectors such as trade, agriculture, education, health, and tourism as areas ripe for partnership and cooperation. Both leaders agreed to initiate technical work to identify specific opportunities for collaboration and to develop formal agreements that would solidify their partnership.

President Bio emphasised the importance of translating their diplomatic discussions into tangible benefits for the citizens of Sierra Leone, marking a promising step forward in their bilateral relations.
