Slovenian Ambassador to Türkiye, His Excellency Gorazd Renčelj and Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba
The Slovenian Ambassador to Türkiye, His Excellency Gorazd Renčelj, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, at the Chancery Building in Ankara, and has expressed admiration for Sierra Leone President, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, after being elected Member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), in the Non-Permanent Category.
On 1st January 2024, Slovenia became a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the second time in its history, joining Sierra Leone, Algeria, South Korea, and Guyana. Ambassador Gorazd Renčelj said his visit was for the two country representatives in Türkiye to compare notes and support one another during their tenure at the United Nations Security Council.
On his path, Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba thanked his colleague for his visit, saying that his office was always open to support and work with member states of the UNSC. “Being voted for by 188 countries out of 193 UN member states is a demonstration of the hard work of Sierra Leone, through the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio.
Sierra Leone will use this opportunity to amplify the collective voice that will promote and defend the common African position for the reform of the UN Security Council”, Ambassador Kaisamba assured.
