His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio warmly welcomed H.E. Ahmed Tejan Fadlu-Deen, the departing ambassador of Sierra Leone to Qatar, in a heartfelt farewell meeting as he prepares to begin his new diplomatic mission to Qatar. The visit’s goals were to say goodbye and strengthen the already solid ties that exist between Qatar and Sierra Leone.

Accompanied by Timothy Musa Kabba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Fadlu-Deen expressed gratitude to President Bio for granting him the opportunity to represent Sierra Leone in Qatar. He restated his commitment to advancing the Big Five Game Changers that the government has identified and enhancing bilateral ties between the two nations.

President Bio congratulated the Ambassador on his new role and mentioned the important responsibilities that come with being a high-ranking diplomat. Underscoring the potential for reciprocal gains and collaboration, he emphasised the significance of strengthening the diplomatic ties between Sierra Leone and Qatar.

Ambassador Fadlu-Deen was urged by President Bio to identify specific areas of coordination and cooperation that would benefit both countries during the meeting. He assured the Ambassador of the nation’s unwavering support and issued an open invitation for ongoing correspondence and cooperation during his stay in Qatar.

As he prepared to assume his new role, Ambassador Fadlu-Deen expressed his profound gratitude and admiration for President Bio’s faith in him as well as the opportunity to represent Sierra Leone internationally. He committed to upholding the interests and values of Sierra Leoneans and making a concerted effort to deepen the relationship between Qatar and Sierra Leone.

The farewell meeting demonstrated Sierra Leone’s and Qatar’s shared commitment to promoting mutual understanding and collaboration on the international scene and marked a turning point in diplomatic relations. The goal of a prosperous and mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries continues to be at the centre of diplomatic efforts as Ambassador Fadlu-Deen sets out on his new journey.
