State House, Freetown, Monday 5 October 2026 — President Dr Julius Maada Bio today received Alhaji Amadu Juldeh Sowe, the newly elected President of Tabital Pulaaku International, and senior representatives of the global Fulah organisation. At State House, the courtesy call brought together delegations from around the world to formally introduce Sierra Leone’s newly elected Fulah leader to the President and the country.
The new leader of the highest office within Tabital Pulaaku International, Sierra Leonean Alhaji Amadu Juldeh Sowe, was accompanied by senior members of the organisation, including Alhaji Sidie Dem and Dr Abubakar Gerei. “Horeejo was crowned for the first time, and the delegation came specifically to Sierra Leone to give it to President Bio, to the Fulah community and to the people of Sierra Leone,” said Dr Helena Sahid, who is a senior member of the organisation from Guinea-Bissau. She said the election of Alhaji Sowe reflected the confidence, unity, peace, and respect he had among the Fulahs in 34 countries.
Members of the delegation expressed appreciation for President Bio’s record of engagement and support for the Fulah community in Sierra Leone. They said Alhaji Sowe’s elevation to the highest leadership of Tabital Pulaaku International was not only a personal achievement for him, but also a source of national pride for Sierra Leone. The representatives thanked President Bio, First Lady Fatima Bio, the Government and people of Sierra Leone for the support and encouragement that drove his candidacy and election.
In his remarks, Alhaji Amadu Juldeh Sowe thanked President Bio, the First Lady, government officials, and Fulah communities at home and abroad for the confidence reposed in him. For the formal presentation, he said he was joined by delegations from 34 countries, underlining the international character of his mission. Alhaji Sowe used the opportunity to appeal for peace, unity and cooperation among the Fulahs in Sierra Leone and the global Fulah diaspora. He vowed to use his term to serve the Fulah community in Sierra Leone and to use his new position to promote peace and cooperation.

President Bio congratulated Alhaji Juldeh Sowe on his election and said that he was delighted to receive the global leadership of Tabital Pulaaku International at State House. The Head of State described the new President of Tabital Pulaaku as “a peaceful, respectful and very consultative leader”, and praised his contributions to Sierra Leone over a sustained period. “You have proven for far too long that you are peaceful and that you have contributed meaningfully to our country,” President Bio said, expressing his confidence in Alhaji Sowe’s ability to lead effectively at the international level.
The President reaffirmed his Government’s continued support for the Fulah community and spoke of the age-old bonds that bind Sierra Leoneans across ethnic and community lines. “We have lived together in our communities, went to schools together, and shared good memories,” he said, pointing to the social cohesion that is a feature of Sierra Leonean society. President Bio urged Alhaji Sowe to use his leadership of Tabital Pulaaku International to unite the wider Fulah community and ensure that his tenure is one of unity, peace and successful leadership.
President Bio also said his meetings with the Fulah community had always reflected their commitment to peace and national development, and he believed electing Alhaji Sowe would take the organisation to a higher level of influence and service. He thanked the global Fulah community for trusting a Sierra Leonean to lead their international organisation. He urged Fulahs in Sierra Leone to rally behind their newly crowned leader as he carries out his global responsibilities.
The State House celebration is seen as a milestone for Sierra Leone, as one of its citizens emerges on the world stage as a Fulah leader. Both the President and the visiting delegation stressed the broader importance of the election: a vote of confidence in Sierra Leone’s leadership climate and an opportunity to bolster peace, unity, and cooperation within the Fulah community and beyond.
Alhaji Amadu Juldeh Sowe is ready to take over at the helm of Tabital Pulaaku International. President Bio and the Government said they intend to maintain close ties with the organisation and support inclusive national development that reflects Sierra Leone’s diverse communities. The delegation’s visit was capped by a mutual pledge to work together to advance peace and unity for Fulahs at home and around the global Fulah network.
