PASCAL, the Los Angeles-born colored lab-grown diamond brand, announced the launch of its new PASCAL IMPACT Program, a partnership with education nonprofit Rising Academies and KOSSA, a youth-serving organisation based in Sierra Leone. The initiative will support locally led education, sport and youth development programs which aim to enable young people in Sierra Leone to reach their potential.
“The program reflects our belief that brilliance is not just in gemstones,” PASCAL says. “Brilliance is also found in people — in their resilience, creativity, talent and potential,” the company added. PASCAL has built its brand around colour, creativity, identity and self-expression using lab-grown diamond technology. The IMPACT Program extends this philosophy to social investment, directing support to community-rooted organisations that are in direct service to young people.
Sierra Leone’s complicated history with diamonds is well known, but PASCAL said the country’s future and its people should not be defined solely by that history. The partnership also provides the company with a way to support a different kind of diamond story, one forged in education, sport and human potential. Rising Academies and KOSSA build skills, confidence and opportunities through their existing locally grounded programming to help young people chart their own paths.
The program matches two partners with complementary strengths. Rising Academies is committed to improving teaching and learning in schools and public education systems, helping to get more kids the foundational academic skills they need. KOSSA has expertise in sport and youth development, using after-school activities and coaching to foster healthier minds and bodies, build confidence and strengthen community ties.
“Colored diamonds have always been a way of self-expression,” said Adam Hua, CEO of PASCAL. “With PASCAL IMPACT we are looking to take that idea of brilliance outside of the stone and recognise the potential that is already there in Sierra Leone. “We’re here to support local organisations doing good work, and give our community a clear way to get involved.
Representatives from both partner organisations underscored this support. “Every child deserves to have the opportunity to realise their potential,” said Job Matseshe, Regional Director at Rising Academies. “This partnership with KOSSA and PASCAL means we can help more young people in Sierra Leone to develop the basic skills, confidence and opportunities they need to shape their own futures. We are grateful to all who are helping to make that happen.”
“Sport can bring joy and healthier minds and bodies,” added Antoine Likound, a partner with KOSSA. “KOSSA is grateful to partner with PASCAL to provide much-needed training equipment for after-school activities to the coaches, and boys and girls we work with.”
”If you’d like to support the initiative, you can make a voluntary contribution via a dedicated PASCAL IMPACT page or at checkout when shopping with PASCAL. Donors can choose whether their donation is to be used for education or sport projects. As collective contributions reach agreed milestones, PASCAL will be working with Rising Academies and KOSSA to publish partner-approved PASCAL IMPACT. Stories showing how funds and resources are being used on the ground, bringing transparency and updates for supporters.
These combined efforts aim to connect PASCAL’s brand vision and customer community to tangible investments in local capacity, helping young people in Sierra Leone access education, sport programs and the opportunities needed to flourish.
