NP SL Limited, one of the leading Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Sierra Leone, on 3rd June 2024, formally presented its new management to the Executive Chairman of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency.
Welcoming the new Chief Executive Officer of NP ( CEO), Mr Saidu Mansaray and his team, the Executive Chairman of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency, Mr Brima Baluwa Koroma, expressed excitement in congratulating Mr Mansaray and welcomed the NP management team. The Executive Chairman of PRA noted that he’s certain that the new management will continue to strengthen the existential synergy between NP and the Agency, following the outstanding services of their predecessor, Mr Kobi Walker.
Chairman Baluwa Koroma said the agency, under his stewardship, has enormously evolved with sound revenue generation and improved compliance rate. He said that in 2018, the revenue was around Le, 473 billion, and from 2019 to 2020, the agency hit Le, 757.79 billion, and from 2021 to 2023, the revenue strength went up to Le, 1.3 trillion.
“I’m kindly encouraging NP to expand their operations beyond the Western area, and with the new management, we should forget about the issue of firefighting in the industry. I’m therefore kindly urging NP to continue its geographic footprint to the hard-to-go areas, including Karene District, Pujehun District, Koinadugu District and Kailahun District” PRA’s Boss averred.
The Executive Chairman disclosed that the agency is planning to have a nationwide workshop with dealers to ensure that they will be guided on how to collaboratively regulate the industry; adding that in recent times, the undue attitudes of some pump attendants have become quite unacceptable, and it’s a clarion call and timely to halt it forthwith.
Speaking on behalf of NP-Sierra Leone Limited, the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Saidu Mansaray, applauded the Executive Chairman and his team for the heartfelt welcome. He spoke on the proposed workshop that PRA intends to undertake within the industry to ensure that not only pump attendants, but all operators within the regulated sector behave ethically and professionally in dealing with the public.
CEO Mansaray applauded the Executive Chairman for his commitment to transforming the downstream petroleum sector, and assured the management of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency, of NP’s fullest cooperation in the actualization of the agency’s zest to keep pushing above its weight, both in revenue and compliance. He said NP is planning to expand its operations beyond the Western Area, which is among their strategic goals for 2024, to take NP’s retail outlets to the doorsteps of every Sierra Leonean across the country, especially in deprived Communities.
