The Republic of Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and other accredited nations, His Excellency Dr Morie Komba Manyeh, attended the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Lancaster House in London. Ministers and high-ranking delegates from all over the Commonwealth came together to discuss common history, honour group accomplishments, and address current institutional, regional, and international issues.
Under the theme “unlocking opportunities together for shared prosperity,” this year’s meeting offered a forum for strategic discussion, hands-on participation, and initiatives to fortify member state partnerships. During his intervention, High Commissioner Manyeh called on member nations to cooperate in order to create an agreement on shared interests. In addition to highlighting widespread calls for appropriate reforms, he stressed that trade and partnerships must be based on goodwill and sincerity. He claimed that these reforms are necessary to ensure mutual prosperity for Commonwealth members as well as to keep up with the rapid changes occurring in the world.

Additionally, Dr Manyeh highlighted the crucial role of peacebuilding, contending that both wider development and successful diplomatic advancement depend on a sustainable peace. He argued for more funding for peacebuilding projects, pointing out that economic expansion and the prosperity of joint ventures throughout the Commonwealth are dependent on long-term stability.
This year’s meeting reaffirmed member states’ commitment to sustainable development, peace, and shared prosperity, carrying on the tradition of positive diplomacy set by previous CFAMM gatherings. In addition to advancing the Commonwealth’s ongoing role as a gathering place for fostering cooperation, mutual aid, and the common good in an increasingly complicated global environment, delegates used the forum to investigate workable solutions.
