The head coach of Star Sports Academy in Sierra Leone, John Tamba Ngongou, recently finished his two-week coaching and administrative skills training programme in Antalya, Turkey. The course took place from February 10 to February 22 at the Innovation Hub UEFA.

This training opportunity was made possible by Antalyaspor and Star Sports Academy’s collaboration. By the agreement, Antalyaspor designates one technical staff member from Star Sports Academy for capacity-building training every three months.

After the training, Coach Tamba Ngongou was overjoyed to receive a certificate and expressed his gratitude to the organisers for allowing him to take part. He emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and the pursuit of new knowledge in the field of sports coaching.

He emphasised that to raise the players’ overall performance in the academy, it is critical to remain current on the most recent coaching methods and approaches.

The UEFA coaching course covered a wide range of topics, including player development, tactical analysis, and sports psychology. Particularly happy with the training’s practical exercises and hands-on experience was Coach Tamba Ngongou, who believes they will help him become a better coach.

In his capacity as head coach of Star Sports Academy, Coach Tamba Ngongou is committed to using the skills and knowledge he acquired during the training to support the growth of the next generation of talented athletes from Sierra Leone. He is excited to continue his professional growth as a sports coach and is looking forward to sharing his experiences with the other academy coaches.

All things considered, Coach Tamba Ngongou’s attendance at the UEFA coaching course in Turkey was a worthwhile and enriching experience that will surely contribute to Star Sports Academy’s future success.
