February 2026 — Her Excellency Rasha Soliman, Egyptian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, paid a courtesy visit to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Sannoh, during a meeting that reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to strengthening youth development cooperation. The session, held at the Ministry of Youth Affairs (MOYA), served as a progress review of action points agreed upon during their previous engagement, with a focus on translating diplomatic goodwill into tangible, youth-centred outcomes.
Ambassador Soliman provided updates on implementation efforts and ongoing initiatives aimed at empowering young people in Sierra Leone and strengthening bilateral youth-focused collaboration. The discussions centred on practical pathways for advancing youth development, such as skill exchange, capacity-building programs, and collaborative training opportunities aimed at increasing young people’s employability and leadership.
Minister Sannoh thanked the Ambassador for his proactive follow-up, describing the visit as a clear demonstration of Egypt’s ongoing goodwill and commitment to expanding bilateral ties. He formally advocated for the expansion of youth exchange programs between Sierra Leone and Egypt, emphasising that greater mobility and exposure would allow young Sierra Leoneans to learn new skills, experience different cultures, and access more resources. The Minister emphasised that such exchanges could foster innovation, leadership development, and long-term people-to-people connections, which would benefit both national development and international cooperation.
Ambassador Soliman welcomed the proposals and emphasised Egypt’s willingness to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Youth Affairs to turn commitments into tangible projects. Both parties agreed to take concrete steps to put exchange schemes, joint training modules, and capacity-building initiatives tailored to Sierra Leone’s youth into action.
The meeting highlights Sierra Leone and Egypt’s growing diplomatic and developmental relationship, positioning youth cooperation as a key pillar of the bilateral agenda and a strategic investment in future shared prosperity.
