CTC Mining SL Limited, led by CEO Hisham Mackie, is transforming the bauxite export industry and promoting economic and social development in Sierra Leone’s Port Loko district. Since its inception in September 2022, the company has prioritised bauxite extraction efficiency, sustainable development, and community empowerment.

CTC Mining SL Ltd primarily operates in the Marforki and Marampa Chiefdoms, investing heavily in community development projects. Over the last two years, the company has successfully employed and trained 292 Sierra Leoneans, and it plans to expand its workforce as operations continue.

This commitment to local employment demonstrates CTC Mining SL Ltd’s desire to improve the communities in which it operates. “Our mission is clear: to extract and deliver high-quality bauxite in an efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner,” said CEO Hisham Mackie.

This mission reflects the company’s long-term growth strategy, which aims to balance economic success, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.

To achieve these objectives, CTC Mining SL Ltd is implementing cutting-edge mining technologies and infrastructure that will increase productivity while reducing environmental impact. This approach not only increases operational efficiency but also demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable practices.

CTC Ports & Logistics operates a modern bauxite shipping facility in Maforki Chiefdom, alongside mining operations. This modern port is equipped with advanced logistics systems that enable the efficient, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective handling of bauxite shipments. The seamless integration of mining and logistics ensures that global bauxite demand is met quickly and consistently, establishing Sierra Leone as a competitive player in the international mining sector.

CTC Mining SL Ltd’s success can be attributed to its experienced mining operations and management team. The company’s technical and administrative teams are comprised of industry veterans renowned for their innovative solutions and commitment to international best practices. “With deep roots in the mining sector and a strong commitment to sustainable practices, our team ensures that CTC Mining SL Ltd remains at the forefront of the industry, consistently exceeding stakeholder expectations,” Mackie said.

Sierra Leone, located on Africa’s scenic west coast, has an estimated 8.4 million people and is known for its rich cultural heritage and abundance of natural resources. The country has significant reserves of diamonds, rutile, and bauxite, with the latter concentrated primarily in the Western and Northern regions. CTC Mining SL Ltd’s headquarters are located in the Port Loko District, which has a high concentration of bauxite ore, which contains hydrous aluminium oxide minerals, clay, and iron oxide. Its strategic location near the Atlantic Ocean makes it ideal for port and export operations.

CTC Mining SL Ltd is making significant contributions to Sierra Leone’s growth through strategic investments, a focus on local empowerment, and adherence to sustainable environmental practices. The company not only creates jobs and benefits local communities, but it also establishes the country as a major player in the global mining industry. As it expands its operations, CTC Mining SL Ltd demonstrates how responsible mining can benefit both the economy and the environment, setting a precedent for the region’s mining sector.
