High Commissioner Rupert Davies and ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Omar Alieu Touray
As he concluded his diplomatic tenure in Nigeria, High Commissioner Rupert Davies, Sierra Leone’s outgoing representative to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, paid a farewell visit to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Omar Alieu Touray, on October 31, 2024.
In his remarks at the ECOWAS Headquarters in Asokoro, Abuja, High Commissioner Davies lauded President Touray’s dedication to upholding democracy and promoting stability across the West African region.
On behalf of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, Mr. Davies expressed Sierra Leone’s gratitude for ECOWAS’ continued support in helping to maintain peace and foster national unity in Sierra Leone. President Touray, in turn, commended High Commissioner Davies for his contributions during his tenure and reaffirmed ECOWAS’ commitment to sustaining peace and security throughout Sierra Leone and the broader sub-region.
As a member of the Permanent Representative Committee (PRC) of ECOWAS, High Commissioner Davies actively engaged in regional diplomatic efforts throughout his assignment. His departure marks the end of his fruitful diplomatic service dedicated to regional cooperation and mutual support within West Africa.
