The spouse of notorious drug lord, Abdul Kamara, popularly known as Bigitel of Mamaba Ridge in the Moyiba Community, East end of Freetown, Juliet Kamara, was taken into custody by the Harbour Division Police during a well-thought-out operation that targeted drug dealers across the nation. This represents a significant advancement in the war against drug trafficking.
A sizable amount of illegal drugs were taken from Kamara’s home, as a consequence of the operation that resulted in her arrest, suggesting that she may have been involved in the drug trade.
Along with two of her sales agents, Mariatu Koroma and Fatmata Bangura, 38-year-old Kamara was placed under arrest. Kamara supposedly runs a popular nightclub complex, nestled within a heavily fortified estate featuring three swimming pools, a restaurant, guest houses, and ghettos. The events were made more mysterious by the two agents’ apparent disguises, which consisted of Islamic abaya clothing.
Due to several drug-related offences, Abdul Kamara, also known as “Bigitel,” is still being held at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre/Prisons.
LUC Kpulun, the spearhead of the operation, emphasized, in a strong post-operation statement, how dedicated law enforcement is to preventing drug abuse, particularly the use of Kush.
“There is no sacred cow in the fight against drug abuse, particularly when it comes to Kush,” Kpulun declared, adding; “We will leave no stone unturned,” highlighting the police’s unwavering resolve to dismantle illicit drug networks.
Juliet Kamara and her associates’ arrest is a major development in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and demonstrates the relentlessness of law enforcement agencies nationwide in their pursuit of justice.
The community has been shocked by Kamara’s arrest, who is closely linked to the infamous drug trade, and it has also highlighted the size and power of local drug networks. The discovery of a substantial quantity of illicit drugs in her home adds more evidence to the extent of her alleged involvement in the illegal trade.
The fact that Kamara and her friends were apprehended, demonstrates the commitment and tenacity with which law enforcement officials have pursued their goals of stopping drug trafficking and shielding communities from the negative impacts of drug abuse. Additionally, it warns those involved in similar illegal activity that they will suffer the consequences of their actions.
While the inquiry into Kamara’s alleged drug-trafficking activities is ongoing, authorities are hopeful that her arrest will lead to further developments in dismantling drug networks and capturing those responsible.
The arrest of Juliet Kamara and her allies marks a significant turning point in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Sierra Leone and shows how committed law enforcement is to shield the public from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
