In a significant move towards enhancing digital connectivity in Sierra Leone, Africell, the leading telecommunications company in Sierra Leone, has joined forces with Samsung Electronics West Africa. 

The partnership, officially sealed at the LOR Restaurant, Levuma Beach, Freetown, underscores a shared commitment to providing Sierra Leoneans with a broader spectrum of smartphones and cutting-edge 5G technology. The collaboration aims to address the growing demand for advanced mobile technologies, ensuring that citizens across Sierra Leone have access to state-of-the-art devices and high-speed connectivity. 

As part of this initiative, Africell will introduce digital SIM cards and showcase the latest innovations from Samsung, enabling customers to experience the full potential of modern smartphones. 

Speaking about the collaboration, the Managing Director of Africell Telecommunications, Shadi Gerjawi, highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to driving digital inclusion and empowering communities through accessible and innovative telecommunications solutions. Shadi Gerjawi furthered that by teaming up with Samsung, Africell aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced mobile technologies, paving the way for a more connected and digitally empowered society. Similarly, the Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa, Lucas Lee, expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the company’s dedication to delivering cutting-edge products and services that cater to the evolving needs of consumers in Sierra Leone.  

Through this collaboration, Samsung seeks to leverage Africell’s extensive network and reach to make its latest innovations more accessible to the Sierra Leonean market. Amidst the gathering at the picturesque venue, the Minister of Information lauded Africell for its unwavering commitment to advancing mobile penetration and internet connectivity throughout Sierra Leone. Emphasizing the government’s priority on expanding access to telecommunications services, the Minister underscored the significance of initiatives like this partnership in driving socio-economic development and empowering citizens with digital tools. 

The climax of the event saw attendees being rewarded with prizes for various Samsung smartphones, courtesy of Africell, symbolizing the company’s dedication to enriching the lives of Sierra Leoneans through technological advancement. As Sierra Leone continues to embrace digital transformation, partnerships like this, play a pivotal role in bridging the digital divide and unlocking new opportunities for economic growth and development.
