The Sierra Leone Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara, has presented letters of credence to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
Ambassador Alie conveyed greetings from the President of Sierra Leone, HE President Bio, to thank him for the assistance rendered during the EVD outbreak to fight the spread of the pandemic. He furthered that as outgoing Chairman of the Non-Alignment Movement, he is looking forward to more cooperation and strengthening the decades of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The President, in his response, considered the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement as a key aspect of the fight against Colonialism. Ilham Aliyev congratulated President Bio on his appointment as a non-permanent member of the UNSC. He also informed Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara that he will be hosting COP29 in November and would be delighted to have His Excellency Maada Bio attend.
Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara explained the (Five) 5 game changers as an agenda for his second and last time in office, which is Feed Salone, Human capital development, Youth Employment scheme Revamping the public service and Technical infrastructure.
Ambassador Alie Badara paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Education had fruitful discussions for scholarships, and secured an invitation for the Minister of Tourism to the conference in April. Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara is the first Sierra Leone Ambassador to present letters of credence to the President of Azerbaijan.
