On October 19, 2023, a ceremony that was characterized with joy and appreciation at her workplace, the honorary Doctorate was formally handed over, following its confirmation, authentication, and printing by the University.

In her gracious acceptance speech, Dr Fatima Maada Bio conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the University of Sierra Leone for bestowing such a remarkable recognition upon her. She expressed that the degree serves as a testament to her dedication and efforts towards improving the lives of women and children in Sierra Leone.
