His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Silla, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Republic of Sudan (non-resident) presented Copies of his Letters of Credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sudan, Ambassador Muji Al-Din Salem, in Khartoum on 23rd August 2026. The ceremony is a demonstration of Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening the long-standing ties between the two countries and marks the beginning of a new era of diplomatic engagement. They said the relationship was brotherly and hoped the accreditation of Ambassador Silla would boost cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields of common interest. The move is expected to foster closer cooperation, strengthen bilateral exchanges and create a conducive environment for a mutually beneficial partnership between Sierra Leone and Sudan.
