Strong Energy Industry & Trade Ltd, a leading Turkish lubricant manufacturer and distributor, paid a courtesy call on Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Turkey, Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson, during a week-long working visit to Istanbul to discuss expanding commercial ties with the West African nation. The meeting reaffirmed the company’s intention to expand its presence in Sierra Leone and explore broader collaboration with the government.
Strong Energy, which manufactures a diverse range of mineral oils and petroleum derivatives, discussed its current presence in Sierra Leone as well as future expansion plans. The company produces motor and gear oils, hydraulic and industrial oils, greases, antifreeze and coolant products, as well as base oils and petroleum derivatives. Manager of export sales. Amr Elhennawy informed the Ambassador that Strong Energy has been operating in Sierra Leone for about six to seven years, with a trade volume of approximately US$600,000 to date. He went on to say that the company exports to more than 50 countries, serving both domestic and international markets, and that it is committed to expanding its operations in Sierra Leone.
“We want to expand our business in Sierra Leone, which is why we are seeking this partnership with the government,” Mr Elhennawy stated, emphasising Strong Energy’s desire to establish deeper commercial ties and pursue opportunities on the ground in Freetown and beyond.
Ambassador Anderson expressed gratitude for the company’s interest and encouraged further engagement. She emphasised that Sierra Leone remains open for business and invited Strong Energy to come to the country for high-level meetings with key stakeholders in the business and investment sectors. The Ambassador emphasised the National Investment Board’s (NIB) role as a focal point for promoting trade and investment while also providing guidance and services to foreign investors.
“I am inviting you to Sierra Leone this year. “I can assure you that your business is secure,” Ambassador Anderson said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering private sector growth and international partnerships. The meeting is expected to pave the way for subsequent visits and discussions aimed at converting interest into concrete investment and trade initiatives.
