The recent accusations of racism and discrimination against Bravely Aqua Company have sparked outrage and concern among the citizens of Sierra Leone.
Many individuals have complained about the company’s alleged discriminatory practices, claiming they have been denied access to their products simply because of their nationality. They furthered that even the company’s outlets are empty, and they are being forced to buy the products from their Indian agents at exorbitant prices, and not at factory price.
This writer interviewed retailers waiting endlessly to buy at the factory. Unfortunately, the factory agents ration what they sell to them. The accusations against Bravely Aqua Company paint a troubling picture of a company that is willing to prioritise the needs of one group of people over another based on their ethnicity. This behaviour is unacceptable and goes against the principles of equality and fairness that should be upheld in any business. It is deeply troubling to hear that Bravely Aqua Company has been accused of refusing to sell their products directly to Sierra Leoneans, while allegedly catering exclusively to Indian citizens.
This discriminatory behaviour has no place in our society and must be addressed immediately.
