Sierra Leone Hajj Taskforce Meets Saudi Hajj Minister in Jeddah, Plans 2026 Pilgrimage

On Monday, Sierra Leone’s Presidential Taskforce on Hajj paid a courtesy call to Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, His Excellency Tawfig Al-Rabiah, at the Jeddah Superdome.
The meeting, which came after Sierra Leone participated in the 5th Hajj Conference and Exhibition, provided an opportunity for both sides to express gratitude and focus on preparations for the upcoming 2026 Hajj season.

Alhaji Murtada Sesay, the Taskforce’s chairman, thanked Minister Al-Rabiah and the Saudi government for organising the conference and facilitating constructive engagement among Hajj stakeholders. They have been given a direct platform to share their experiences with the President.
Hairman Sesay emphasised that the President values hearing directly from pilgrims and does not rely solely on Taskforce reports, reflecting the administration’s high priority on pilgrims’ welfare and feedback.
Minister Al-Rabiah praised the Sierra Leone delegation for their active participation in the conference, emphasising the significance of such engagement in planning for the upcoming pilgrimage season. He also took the opportunity to reiterate Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Hajj countries and improving coordination among national offices.
The Sierra Leone delegation included Ambassador Mohammed Barrie, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Alhaji Mohamed Haji-Kella; and Ambassador Dr Ibrahim Jalloh, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj.
