On February 14, 2024, President Bio formally issued the warrant of appointment, ushering in a new phase in Justice Bangura’s legal career. At the event, Dr. Julius Sandy, the Secretary to the President, emphasised the careful selection procedure and thanked everyone who contributed to Justice Bangura’s appointment. During his acceptance speech, Justice Bangura conveyed his sincere gratitude to President Bio for giving him the chance to serve on the Supreme Court, highlighting that it was the realisation of a long-held dream.

In doing so, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving with honesty and diligence and thanked his family, the Chief Justice, and his fellow judges. He underlined the significance of prompt justice administration and challenged Justice Bangura and his associates to take the lead in defending the rule of law.
