The Paragons Foundation–Sierra Leone proudly hosted its 7th Annual Summit at the Malachy Motel in Moyamba, bringing together members of the United Methodist Church to celebrate achievements and plan for the future.
The summit kicked off with an inspiring keynote address from Mr Joseph Gbogba, followed by speeches from Mr James Foh, representing the Former United Methodist Young Adults (FUMYA), and Rev. Michael Columba, the Regional District Superintendent. Founded by former members of the church’s Youth and Young Adults Organizations, the Paragons Foundation has established itself as a vital non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to mentoring emerging leaders, supporting smaller congregational churches, and promoting community development.
This year’s summit was particularly noteworthy as it coincided with an election cycle for the organisation, leading to the appointment of Chief Paragon Aloysius B. Moisia and Deputy Chief Martha Kpaka Williams. Their leadership is expected to usher in a new era of growth, service, and outreach for the foundation. During the event, five new members were inducted into the Paragons family, taking their oaths of admittance and reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to expanding its community impact.
The summit culminated in a heartfelt Thanksgiving Service at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Moyamba, followed by a vibrant Praise Service on Sunday, themed “A Charge to Keep.” Rev. Emmerson Laggah, the Regional Superintendent (South), delivered a powerful sermon that underscored the foundation’s mission of faithful service and responsibility.
In line with its philanthropic goals, the Paragons Foundation also made contributions to Trinity Church Moyamba and a smaller church in the remote community of Mokerewa, aiming to strengthen their ministries and enhance their outreach efforts.
