‘NGOs Critical To National Service Delivery’…Dr. Francis Kai-Kai

Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Francis Kai-Kai has said that NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) are considered critical actors in the actualization of the President’s Agenda of effective service delivery for 2020 and beyond.

Dr. Francis Kai-Kai made this reminder on Friday 28th February 2020 at the Ministry of Social Welfare Conference Hall in Freetown to representatives of various NGOs at a service signing ceremony.

He said the government of President Julius Maada Bio is focused on making sure this year of delivery becomes the most important thing in Sierra Leone’s development trajectory.

The ceremony was to witness twenty-eight (28) more NGOs sign the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Ministry of Social Welfare. Already, two batches of NGOs serving in the Health and Education sectors have signed the SLA.

The minister highly acknowledged the several contributions made by NGOs, both national and international, to the people of Sierra Leone over the years, saying government continues to strongly rely on NGOs in taking development to the last mile within the country.

“And in this endeavor, and as demanded by the MTNDP (2019-2023) and also the Sustainable Development Goals (2030) charter, the government is committed to leaving no one behind,” he noted.
