Executive Officer of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency Brima Baluwa Koroma
The Executive Officer of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency Brima Baluwa Koroma is a worried man following the publication of the recruitment of 17 personnel without following the appropriate recruitment procedures to make the process open, competitive and transparent. The illegal recruitment was uncovered by Auditors from the Audit Service Sierra Leone and the report stated that the “Agency did not follow the appropriate recruitment procedures to make the process open, competitive and transparent”. Many qualified Sierra Leoneans have expressed their dismay about the way and manners of most MDAs’ recruitment procedures. One of the applicants who applied for a position at PRA explained that job interviewers openly expressed tribal affiliation during the interview, and he was dismissed.
The 17 recruitment was evidenced by the fact that there were no relevant supporting documents in respect of advertisements, application letters and invitation letters to attend interviews to justify that the correct procedures were followed.
Auditors accused the Human Resources Manager of ignoring their recommendation to make available to the Audit Service Sierra Leone the relevant documents about the recruitment of those 17 personnel.
