In ‘’Okada Bomba’’ Promotion… Africell, Watu Handover Brand New Bike to 1st Lucky Winner

By Philip Makavore

Afrimoney in partnership with Watu on Friday 10th June 2022, has handed over a brand new TVS HLX bike to Kadiatu Kargbo, who is the first lucky winner of the ‘’Okada Bomba’’ Promotional draw at Lumley, Regent Road Junction.

According to a representative from Watu, Ken Saro-Wiwa Fofanah, Watu is a Micro-finance Organization partnering with Afrimoney to empower youth to be bike owners. He said they loan bikes to bike riders and other potential customers by depositing Two Million Leones as part payment to them, adding that they will negotiate with the bike rider on the payment plan. He disclosed that the payment plan will range from eight to thirteen months based on the payment agreement plan. He noted that after depositing the two million as part payment, the customer is required to come with his/her national voter’s identity card and a surety. He said they will give the rider a brand new licensed bike, with GPS installation and two crash helmets which they don’t need a house book as collateral.  He went on to say that it’s optional for the customer to pay either weekly or monthly with one of the most reliable companies in the country, afrimoney. He went on to say that customers don’t need to come to their office to do their payment; they can do it through afrimoney.

‘’ Today is the second raffle and we are handing over day over the second brand new bike to the winner of the ‘Okada Bomba’ promotion’’ he stated.

He said the draw is transparent which will be held at Lumley for everyone to witness. He encouraged bike riders and potential customers who want to loan a bike to visit their office at Sir Samuel Lewis Road, Aberdeen Junction.

The Head of Operations Afrimoney Mamadu K. Barrie said they are partnering with Watu to help bike riders to become bike owners, stating that any customers who make payment through afrimoney, the person is entitled to win for hundred prizes including a brand new bike, brand new crash helmet, servicing oil and so on. He stated that their motive is to empower youths for economic development. He went on to say that there are over forty winners of different prizes for this draw, adding that afrimoney is providing reliable service for customers.

Receiving the bike with joy, the 1st lucky winner of the ‘’Okada Bomba’’ Promotion, expressed gratitude to Afrimoney and Watu for launching the ‘’Okada Bomba’’ Promotion.

She stated that as a petty trader, she went to loan a bike for her son so that he would be able to raise money to resit his examination. She said she went to Watu’s shop and deposited two million and a surety and handed the bike to her son and her son has been making payments every week through afrimoney. She maintained that she received a call from the office that she has won a bike.

‘’I am happy to become the owner of two bikes,’’ she said.

She encouraged parents to loan bikes to their children so that they can be financially independent.
