NaCSA Commissioner, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, is currently in New York to participate in the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). As a key representative of NaCSA, Ambassador Ndomahina has been invited to participate in a high-level event organized by the Permanent Mission of Belgium and the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations.

The side event, titled “Harnessing Social Protection to Tackle Poverty and Empower Women and Girls,” aims to explore the critical role of social protection in addressing poverty and promoting gender equality. Ambassador Ndomahina will join other distinguished panellists to share NaCSA’s experiences and best practices in implementing Social Protection programs in Sierra Leone.

In addition, Ambassador Ndomahina is expected to participate in another side event focused on the economic empowerment of women of Africa and the diaspora, who are in the struggle for climate justice. This event will provide a platform for discussing the intersectionality of gender, climate change, and economic empowerment and exploring innovative solutions to support women’s leadership in climate action.

During his stay in New York, Ambassador Ndomahina will also engage with development partners, including civil society organizations, NGO representatives, and United Nations officials. These meetings establish vital links between NaCSA and international organizations, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing to enhance Social Protection and gender-sensitive programming in Sierra Leone.
