Alimu Sanu Barrie, CEO of Pavi Fort-AL Associates (SL) Ltd
Alimu Sanu Barrie, CEO of Pavi Fort-AL Associates (SL) Ltd, is under fire for causing $321,000 in damage to SIERRATEL Network Infrastructure and Services with impunity.
The destruction took place along Ferry Junction, disconnecting 11,321 customers in the process. SIERRATEL management has been unable to discuss the situation with Pavi Fort due to the company’s lack of cooperation and responsiveness.
Customers from Ferry Junction to Waterloo are unable to use services they have already paid for, due to the severity of the damage. Customers have protested at SIERRATEL offices, requesting immediate restitution or a refund. Despite numerous attempts by SIERRATEL management to contact Mr Barrie, he has refused to meet or discuss the situation with them.
When contacted by Gleaner Newspaper, Mr Barrie admitted that the damage happened while his company was working in the Ferry Junction area. However, he has refused to accept responsibility for the repair costs, claiming that the government Ministry that awarded him the contract should bear the cost.
The situation has sparked outrage among SIERRATEL customers and the general public, who are demanding that Mr Barrie be held accountable for the damage caused. The company’s refusal to pay for the repairs has raised questions about its integrity and commitment to meeting its obligations.
As the standoff continues, SIERRATEL management is looking into legal options to seek restitution for the damage caused by Pavi Fort. The case serves as a cautionary tale about the value of accountability and responsibility in business transactions, particularly when it comes to state-owned infrastructure.
