US Mining Mafia, Craig Dean
The politics of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) has degenerated into an all-out political battle between the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) Party, US Mining Mafia, Craig Dean, has reportedly meddled into the internal politics of Sierra Leone.
The Chief Executive Officer of Marampa Mines, Craig Dean, has recently been embroiled in some unholy activities in which his dealings in Sierra Leone have been seriously questioned by the local media. Craig was spotted in the declaration of the Wara Serry Kamal as President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association at the Freetown City Council this past Friday 11th April.
His (Craig) presence in the declaration has raised many questions in the minds of legal luminaries. Most of them have questioned the intention of Craig Dean, who, they say, wants the Bar Association to protect his businesses and potential legal battles in the country.
Others argue that it is good for Craig to be there because Wara is the Lawyer for Marampa Mines, which makes Craig a client, while some believe that Wara also has a close relationship with Craig.
This is not the first time Wara has come into controversy. Her call to the Bar was something that raised questions of fairness in the legal profession, as most people believe her Father, who was Attorney General and Minister of Justice, influenced that.
