Milton Margai Technical University on Saturday 4th February 2024, held a successful matriculation ceremony at the University’s main campus; the peace amphitheatre, at its Goderich campus; where the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Philip Kanu, admonished new students from the three campuses (Goderich, Congo Cross and Brookfields) to be steadfast in their commitments to education. He expressed gratitude to the staff of the University for providing the new students the opportunity to participate in the matriculation ceremony, as one of the criteria that certifies students to be legally eligible. In addition, Prof Kanu highlighted the historic transformation of the university as one of the most prestigious educational institutions, which has produced a lot of academicians who continue to serve Africa and the world at large. He also stated that the new students must consider themselves lucky and be proud to be Miltonians. Furthermore, he noted that the government of President Julius Maada Bio has done extremely well to improve the institution’s staff capacity and the creation of a safe learning environment; citing the refurbishing of classroom buildings to ensure students get a convenient place to learn, as a case in point. He ended by encouraging the new students to take their studies seriously, as they are representing various communities as Educational ambassadors, adding that much is expected of them.
