The Ubuntu Cycling Foundation has trained over 60 schoolchildren at the Dr June Primary School on Skye Street in Freetown.

The training, which was meant to inspire the youngsters to take up cycling, started with a few drills by the UCI World Track Sprint Champion and founder of the Ubuntu Cycling Foundation, Dr Marlon Moncrieffe at the Dr June Primary School.

According to him, the school cycling program is designed to bring Sierra Leone up to speed in terms of cycling development as the other chapters in Rwanda, South Africa, and Ghana are doing well.

The school children were full of energy to learn and understand the fundamentals of cycling at an early age.

For Team Ubuntu Sierra Leone, the task now is to replicate the training to other schools in Sierra Leone, as that is the vision of the founder.

The Tour de France is a top aspiration for cyclists, who knows, Sierra Leone might grace it someday.
