During the team’s training session this morning at the Sierra Leone Football Association’s (SLFA) headquarters in Freetown, the technical staff and players were formally introduced to Abdul Karim Bangura (AKB), the recently hired Team Manager of the Leone Stars.
Mohammed Benson Bawoh, the Acting General Secretary, gave the introduction.
In his introductory remarks to the players and technical staff, Bangura said: “I accept this appointment as the Team Manager of our beloved national team, the Leone Stars, with great pride and humility.
This is not just a personal honour but a call to national service, and I want to sincerely thank the Sierra Leone Football Association, especially the Executive Committee, for their confidence in me. My commitment is straightforward: I will work tirelessly, in tandem with the technical team, players, and management, to make sure that our Leone Stars are well-motivated, well-prepared, and fully supported to succeed.
We will make Sierra Leone proud if we work together with discipline, resolve, and unity.
“We are happy to have you as Team Manager,” Head Coach Mohamed Kallon said in response, speaking on behalf of the players and technical staff. We have all witnessed the improvements and advancements you made to the Bo Rangers Football Club, so you are not new to the game. With the national team, we are confident you can achieve the same level of success.
Two members of the Executive Committee, Pastor Philip Buck, Chairman of the Western Area Football Association, and Brima Jalloh, Chairman of the North-East Region, graced the brief ceremony.
