The newly elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, led a delegation from his Executive Committee on a courtesy visit to the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Sports. Following the meeting at the NSA, the SLFA delegation visited the Ministry of Sports, where they were greeted by the Honourable Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima. The Minister congratulated Mr. Kamara and praised the new leadership’s commitment to serving the football community. She assured the SLFA of the government’s full support and promised ongoing collaboration to benefit both the sport and the nation.
“We are ready to collaborate with you. The government is firmly committed to football development and will ensure that we create an enabling environment for progress,” Minister James-Teima stated, reaffirming the government’s support for the SLFA’s initiatives.
Throughout both meetings, President Kamara reiterated his vision for transforming Sierra Leone football. He emphasised the value of unity and institutional support, saying, “This visit is more than just ceremonial; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to accountability, collaboration, and national alignment.” We’re ready to listen, work, and deliver. Football has the power to inspire and uplift, and with your help, we are on track to usher in a new era of credibility and success for the sport we all love.”
The series of high-level engagements marks a strong start for the Kamara-led SLFA administration, ushering in a new era of collaboration and shared ambition among football’s leadership and key stakeholders in Sierra Leone’s sports ecosystem. As the SLFA begins this new chapter, the commitment to fostering collaboration and improving the football landscape is expected to yield positive results for both the sport and the nation as a whole.
